  • Wall Street ended in red on surging AI spending, while investors also digested a more hawkish tone from the U.S. Federal Reserve.
  • The yields on the US 10-year Treasury were down marginally at 4.09 percent and the US 2-year Treasury yield were down 1 basis point at 3.59 percent.

  • Dabur Q2 Highlights (Consolidated, YoY) revenue up 5.4% to Rs 3,191 crore versus Rs 3,029 crore. Ebitda up 6.4% to Rs 588 crore versus Rs 553 crore. Margin at 18.4% versus 18.2%. Net Profit up 6.5% to Rs 453 crore versus Rs 425 crore. To pay interim dividend of Rs 2.75/share.
  • ITC Q2 Highlights (YoY) revenue down 3.4% to Rs 18,021 crore versus Rs 18,649 crore. Ebitda up 2.1% to Rs 6,252 crore versus Rs 6,123 crore. Margin at 34.7% versus 32.8%. Net Profit up 2% to Rs 5,180 crore versus Rs 5,078 crore.
  • Bandhan Bank Q2 Highlights (YoY) NII down 11.8% to Rs 2,589 crore versus Rs 2,934 crore. Operating Profit down 29.4% to Rs 1,310 crore versus Rs 1,855 crore. Provisions up 90.1% to Rs 1,153 crore versus Rs 606 crore. Net Profit down 88.1% to Rs 112 crore versus Rs 937 crore. Gross NPA at 5.02% versus 4.96%; Net NPA at 1.37% versus 1.36%.
  • DLF Q2 Highlights (Consolidated, YoY) revenue down 16.8% to Rs 1,643 crore versus Rs 1,975 crore. Ebitda down 43.5% to Rs 284 crore versus Rs 502 crore. Margin at 17.3% versus 25.4%. Net Profit down 14.6% to Rs 1,180 crore versus Rs 1,381 crore.
  • Bharat Electronics has received additional orders worth Rs 732 crore since its last disclosure on Oct. 22.

Nifty Overview & Outlook

Benchmark Nifty index ended lower at 25878 spot levels, down 176 points from its previous closing values.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices ended on a flat note.

All sectoral indices, barring Realty, ended in red. Amongst them, Banking, Finance, Pharma and Healthcare indices were down over 0.5% each.

Technically, Nifty index is hovering in a congestion range (25700-26100 spot zone) around its 52 weeks highs. Overall chart structure is positive, cross and sustenance above 26100 will instigate the buying momentum. Considering its current chart structure, we maintain our buy on dips trading approach till it is trading above 25600 spot levels on closing basis.

 

Derivatives Overview & Outlook

Yesterday, short buildup was seen in Nifty futures with an increase in open interest by 7.2% along with some long unwinding in Banknifty futures with decrease in open interest by around 2%, whereas no significant changes were seen among Finnifty and Midcapnifty futures on option front.

All F&O sectoral indices, baring Oil & Gas and Realty, settled lower. Amongst them, Finance, Pharma, Technology and Telecom stocks witnessed maximum addition of short positions whereas some long buildup was observed in Realty stocks.

On options front, further call writing was seen at multiple strike. Maximum positions are at 27000 CE followed by 26000 CE and 25000 PE. Quantum of call positions is significantly higher than the quantum of put positions which indicates weakness in price.

 

Institutional Trading Activity

Yesterday, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 3078 Cr in the cash segment, sold stocks futures worth Rs 3579 Cr also sold index futures worth Rs 2390 Cr. DIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 2469 Cr.
