The Centre is mulling over new incentives for Indian exporters amid the doubling of import tariffs by the United States. Some of these incentives were provisioned in the Union Budget for financial year 2025-26.

Global Stock Market Today
- US equity markets, barring NASDAQ, settled on a negative note.
- European equity markets ended on a mix note.
- Asian equity markets are trading mix.
- GIFT Nifty is down by 50 points, Nifty futures likely to open around 24650 levels.
Benchmark Nifty index ended on a slightly positive note at 24596 spot levels after a highly volatile trading sessions where at one point it was trading down by more than200 points.
Broader markets traded in line with the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices too ended on a flat to positive note.
Majority of sectoral indices, tracked at NSE, settled on a flat to positive note. Amongst them, Media, IT and Pharma index were the top performers, rose 0.99%, 0.87% & 0.75% respectively.
Nifty index once again settled around its 100 EMA on daily charts, supporting the case of a base formation around current levels. Positional supports are placed around 24200-2400 spot levels whereas resistances are placed at 24900-25000 spot levels. Going ahead, we might see some sideways move in immediate near term.
Derivatives Overview & Outlook
Yesterday, Finnifty and Midcapnifty futures added 2% and 3.8% of open interest respectively as long buildup while no meaningful activity was seen in Nifty and Banknifty futures on price as well as open interest front.
All F&O sectors, barring Chemical and Telecom, settled on a positive note. Amongst them, Automobiles and Banking stocks witnessed maximum addition of long positions along with some short covering in Cement and Infra stocks.
On option front, Nifty will start the new weekly contract with maximum positions at 23500 PE followed by 24500 PE and 25000 CE.
Institutional Trading Activity
Yesterday, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 4997 Cr in the cash segment, sold index futures worth Rs 1131 Cr and bought stocks futures worth Rs 1240 Cr. DIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 10864 Cr.
