Seven issues, including Tata Capital and LG Electronics, to hit Dalal Street this week- Daily Market Update 6th Oct 2025

The week starting from October 6 is set to be the biggest ever for the primary market in terms of fund raising size as seven IPOs worth much more than Rs 30,000 crore will hit Dalal Street. Though it is smaller in terms of number of IPOs seen in previous two weeks.

Non-banking finance company Tata Capital will be the first to launch its Rs 15,512-crore IPO on October 6 with price band of Rs 310-326 per share. This would be the largest initial share sale by the NBFC in India.

News highlights from across the globe

  • Majority of Asian stock markets are trading in green and stocks climbed to a record, led by Japan, with the Nikkei 225 index jumping more than 4%, heading for the biggest one-day gain since April, after pro-stimulus lawmaker Sanae Takaichi was positioned to become the country’s next prime minister.
  • Oil prices gained on the back of OPEC+ agreeing to raise production by a modest amount. Brent rose above $65 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was near $62.
  • S&P Global and HSBC will release India Services PMI and Composite PMI for September.

  • Infosys partnered with Telenor Shared Services to modernize HR operations using Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) solution.
  • Marico: The second quarter saw consolidated revenue growth reaching the thirties due to pricing interventions and robust international business momentum (constant currency growth touching the twenties), resulting in modest year-on-year operating profit growth.
  • LTIMindtree: The LIC’s stake in the company has risen from 7% to 9% via a market purchase.
  • Hindustan Zinc’s refined Lead saw the largest surge, up 29% to 45,000 tonnes, followed by Silver production, which increased by 22% to 144 tonnes. Mined Metal production was up 1% at 2.58 lakh tonnes, while Refined Zinc and Wind Power production both saw a 2% increase, reaching 2.02 lakh tonnes and 132 million units, respectively.
  • Yes Bank’s deposits grew by 7.1% to Rs 2.96 lakh crore, loans and advances increased by 6.5% to Rs 2.5 lakh crore, and CASA saw a 13.2% rise to Rs 1 lakh crore, resulting in a sequential improvement in the CASA ratio to 33.8% from 32.8%.
  • TVS Motor arm TVS Motor (Singapore)Pte Ltd acquires 100% of share capital in Engines Engineering S.p.A from ACT S.r.l. Consequent to the same, Engines Engineering S.p.A has become a wholly owned subsidiary of TVS Motor (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
  • Bajaj Housing Finance’s AUM grew by 24% year-over-year to Rs 1.28 lakh crore as of Sept. 30, with Gross Disbursements showing a stronger increase of 32% to Rs 15,900 crore for the same period.
  • Torrent Pharma: NPPA imposed Rs 6.6 crore penalty for overcharging on five drugs.
  • L&T FINANCE showed a 25% year-over-year increase in Retail Disbursements, reaching Rs 18,850 crore, and a 17% rise in its Retail Loan Book, which now stands at Rs 1.04 lakh crore.
  • Lupin has launched Liraglutide Injection in the U.S., a drug used to improve glycemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes. US FDA inspected pithampur unit-2 manufacturing facility from July 8-17. The inspection closed with four form-483 observations. Working with the US FDA to resolve compliance issues.
  • Fortis Healthcare: SEBI has approved IHH Healthcare Berhad’s request to proceed with the pending open offers for Fortis Healthcare and its subsidiary, Fortis Malar Hospitals, which IHH will formally announce to Bursa Securities.
  • Asian Paints announced that its Board of Directors will meet on Nov. 12 to consider and declare an interim dividend. The Record Date for determining the shareholders eligible to receive this interim dividend will be Nov. 18.
  • Vodafone Idea has announced a key management change, appointing Tejas Mehta as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective Oct. 6.
  • Tata Steel received Rs 2,411 crore demand letter over Sukinda Chromite Block; pursuing legal remedy.
  • Tata Motors transfers Entire Stake in Arms, Associates, JVs & Joint Operations to TMLCV Post-Demerger.

Nifty Overview & Outlook

The benchmark Nifty index settled slightly higher at 24894 spot levels after adding 58 points to its previous closing values.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices gained 0.83% & 0.69% respectively.

Majority of sectoral indices ended on a flat to positive note. Amongst them, Nifty Metal index was the top performer, rose 1.82% followed by PSU Bank and Consumer Durable index that rose over 1% each.

Technically, Nifty index bounced back from the trendline support placed around 24600 spot levels. Going ahead, it is likely to test 25000 spot levels but for any sustainable up move it needs to breach 25000 spot levels decisively on closing basis. On the flip side, 24800-24770 spot levels will provide immediate support on the down side.

 

Derivatives Overview & Outlook

Last Friday, Nifty, Banknifty and Finnifty futures added around 4.5%, 2% and 20.5% of open interest respectively as long buildup while no significant changes were observed in Midcapnifty future on open interest front.

All F&O sectors, barring Pharma, settled on a positive note. Amongst them, Banking & Finance, Cement and Oil&Gas stocks witnessed maximum addition of long positions along with some short covering was seen in Auto stocks.

On options front, put writing along with some call writing was seen at multiple strikes. Maximum positions are at 24000 PE followed by 24800 PE and 26000 CE followed by 25000 CE.

 

Institutional Trading Activity

Last week, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 6780 Cr in the cash segment, bought stocks futures worth Rs 1914 Cr and sold index futures worth Rs 5726 Cr. DIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 13014 Cr during the week.
