US President Donald Trump on Monday said that he will be substantially increasing tariffs on India for purchasing Russian oil and selling it in the open market to reap “big profit”.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs, in response to queries, said in a media briefing last week that New Delhi and Moscow have a “steady and time-tested partnership”.

  • One 97 Communications: Antfin in its clean out trade, to sell 5.84% stake at Rs 1020 apiece. The block deal size is Rs 3,800 crore, as per the sources told to NDTV profit.

Nifty Overview & Outlook

Benchmark Nifty index ended higher at 24723 spot levels after adding 157 points to its previous closing values.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices gained 1.40% & 1.27% respectively.

All sectoral indices, barring FMCG, Banking and Finance, ended in green. Amongst them, Metal index was the top gainer, rose 2.48% followed by IT, Media, Auto & Realty index that rose over 1.5% each.

Nifty index seems to form a base around its 100 DEMA however sustenance above 25000 spot levels hold the key for any sustainable up move. Hence, we reiterate our sell on rise trading view till we are trading below 25000 spot levels on closing basis.

 

Derivatives Overview & Outlook

Yesterday, Nifty and Midcpnifty futures rose on short covering as open interest shed by 2% & 4.2% respectively, on the other hand, Banknifty and Finnifty futures added 5.5% and 3.5% of open interest respectively without any significant change in the prices.

All F&O sectors settled on a positive note. Amongst them, Cement stocks witnessed maximum addition of long positions along with some short covering in Chemical and Textile stocks.

On the option front, put writing along with call unwinding was seen at multiple strikes. Maximum positions are at 25000 CE followed by 26000 CE and 23500 PE followed by 24000 PE.

 

Institutional Trading Activity

Yesterday, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 2567 Cr in the cash segment, sold index futures worth Rs 3821 Cr also sold stocks futures worth Rs 1836 Cr. DIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 4386 Cr.
