Negotiators of India and the EU on Monday commenced talks to resolve outstanding issues in the proposed free trade agreement, as the deadline to conclude the talks nears, the commerce ministry said. A team of negotiators from the European Union (EU) is in New Delhi from November 3-7 for negotiations with Indian counterparts on the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

  • US stocks settled higher on Monday, with artificial intelligence-related deals driving much of the gains even as the Federal Reserve’s near-term monetary policy grew increasingly foggy due to scarcity of official U.S. economic data.
  • Asian equity markets are trading lower on Tuesday, with sentiment dampened by weak US economic data and lingering uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook.
  • Oil prices edged lower after a four-day rally, as traders assessed OPEC+’s move to delay planned production increases early next year. Brent crude for January delivery hovered near $65 a barrel.

  • Bharti Airtel Q2 Highlights (Consolidated, Quarter-on-Quarter) revenue up 5.4% to Rs 52,145 crore versus Rs 49,463 crore. Ebitda up 6.2% to Rs 29,561 crore versus Rs 27,839 crore. Margin at 56.7% versus 56.3%. Net Profit up 14.2% to Rs 6,792 crore versus Rs 5,948 crore.
  • City Union Bank Q2 Highlights (Year-on-Year/Quarter-on-Quarter) net Interest Income (NII) up 14.2% to Rs 667 crore versus Rs 582 crore (YoY). Operating Profit up 9.9% to Rs 471 crore versus Rs 428 crore (YoY). Provisions fell 18.6% to Rs 57 crore versus Rs 70 crore (YoY). Asset Quality improved: Gross NPA at 2.42% versus 2.99% (QoQ), Net NPA at 0.9% versus 1.2% (QoQ).
  • Power Grid Q2 Highlights (Consolidated, Year-on-Year) revenue up 1.8% to Rs 11,476 crore versus Rs 11,278 crore. Ebitda down 13.6% to Rs 9,114 crore versus Rs 10,552 crore. Margin at 79.4% versus 93.6%. Net Profit down 6% to Rs 3,566 crore versus Rs 3,793 crore.
  • Titan Q2 Highlights (Consolidated, Year-on-Year) revenue up 28.8% to Rs 18,725 crore versus Rs 14,534 crore. Ebitda up 51.7% to Rs 1,875 crore versus Rs 1,236 crore. Margin at 10% versus 8.5%. Net Profit up 59.1% to Rs 1,120 crore versus Rs 704 crore.
  • Vodafone Idea clarified that no proposal requiring disclosure is currently being considered by the board. This follows media reports suggesting that PE firm TGH is in talks to invest up to $6 billion (around Rs. 50,000 cr) in the company.
  • Cipla will acquire a 100% stake in Inzpera Healthsciences for nearly Rs. 111 cr.
  • Zydus Lifesciences’s board will meet on November 6 to consider raising funds of up to Rs. 5,000 cr through equity issuance.
  • Info Edge will invest up to Rs. 100 cr in its subsidiary, Redstart Labs (India).
  • Tata Consumer Products announced that PB Balaji has resigned as Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director.
  • UTI AMC stated that its Q3 net profit will include a one-time impact of Rs. 85.79 cr.
  • Bharti Airtel has appointed Dinesh Kumar Khara as an Additional Director for a period of five years. The board has also approved acquiring an additional 5% stake in its subsidiary, Indus Towers. Additionally, the company has approved amendments to its Memorandum and Articles of Association to include emerging technologies and related areas.
  • CAMS’s arm has unveiled Bima Central Administrator at the IIA Annual Event 2025.
  • TVS Motor has received a Letter of Allotment from its arm, TVS Credit Services, for the allotment of an additional 29 lakh shares at an aggregate investment cost of Rs. 171.5 cr.
  • Wipro has signed an agreement to transfer its entire stake in Drivestream India for Rs. 18.03 cr as part of its restructuring plan.
  • RITES has secured a construction order worth Rs. 372.68 cr from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences.
  • KEC International has issued a corporate guarantee worth $26.67 million in favour of an overseas bank.

 

Nifty Overview & Outlook

Benchmark Nifty index ended on a flat note at 25763 spot levels, adding 41 points to its previous closing values.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices rose around 0.75% each.

Majority of sectoral indices, tracked at NSE, ended on a positive note. Amongst them, Realty, PSU Bank index were the top gainers, rose 2.23% & 1.92% respectively followed by Pharma and Healthcare index that gained around 1% each.

Nifty index took a halt around the lower price band of ongoing past 10 days congestion zone (25650-26100 spot levels). Overall chart structure is strong by the time it is holding above 25350 spot levels on closing basis.

 

Derivatives Overview & Outlook

Yesterday, Banknifty, Finnifty and Midcapnifty futures added around 4%, 8% and 3.5% of open interest respectively as fresh long positions, whereas no notable changes were seen in Nifty on price as well as on open interest front.

All sectoral indices settled on a positive note. Amongst them, Capital Goods, Chemical, Cement and Telecom stocks witnessed maximum addition of long positions while some short covering was seen among Banking and Realty stocks.

On options front, put writing along with some call unwinding was seen at multiple strikes. Nifty has maximum positions at 26000 CE and 25700 PE.

 

Institutional Trading Activity

Yesterday, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 1884 Cr in the cash segment, sold stocks futures worth Rs 993 Cr also sold index futures worth Rs 1194 Cr. DIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 3516 Cr.
