India’s weight in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index has slipped to fourth place from its earlier second rank over the past year, as investor flows shifted toward AI and semiconductor-driven firms in China, Taiwan and South Korea, reducing India’s share within the benchmark.
China currently holds the largest weight in the index at 26.58 percent, followed by Taiwan at 21.04 percent and South Korea at 15.65 percent. Brazil accounts for 4.63 percent, while other markets together make up 18.75 percent of the index weight.

Global Stock Market Today
- US equity markets, barring Dow Jones that settled on a flat note, ended lower in range 0.54% to 1.18%.
- European equity markets ended higher in range 0.37% to 0.72%.
- Majority of Asian equity markets are trading in red.
- GIFT Nifty is trading down by 120 points, Nifty futures likely to open around 25550 levels.
The benchmark Nifty index ended on a flat note at 25497 spot levels after a lackluster trading session.
Mid cap index outperformed the benchmark, rose 0.66%; on the other hand, Small cap index traded inline with the benchmark.
Majority of sectoral indices, tracked at NSE, ended in green. Amongst them, Pharma and Healthcare index were the top performers, rose over 1% each followed by PSU Banks, Oil & Gas and Chemicals index that that gained nearly 1% each. On the other hand, Media and FMCG index ended lower with marginal loses.
Nifty index is going through a slightly downward sloping channel formation having supports around 25200 and resistance at 25700 spot levels. Going ahead, we reiterate sell on rise trading approach as long as Nifty trades below the upper band of the formation.
Derivatives Overview & Outlook
Yesterday, no significant change was seen among Nifty, Banknifty and Finnifty futures on price as well as on open interest front.
On the sectoral front, Auto and Pharma stocks witnessed maximum addition of long positions along with some short buildup among Finance and Textile stocks.
On options front, both , Call as well as some Put writing was seen at multiple strikes. Maximum positions are at 26000 CE closely followed by 25500 CE and 25000 PE followed by 25500 PE.

Yesterday, FIIs sold stocks worth Rs 3466 Cr in the cash segment, sold stocks futures worth Rs 324 Cr and bought index futures worth Rs 248 Cr. On the other hand, DIIs bought stocks worth Rs 5032 Cr in the cash segment.
