India and Eurasian Economic Union will hold first round of talks for a free trade agreement, early November. The announcement followed Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal’s recent meeting with Minister in Charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev in Moscow.

  • Lupin: USFDA ends the inspection at Nagpur facility with 6 observations. USFDA conducted an inspection at Nagpur facility from Sept. 8-16.
  • Amber Enterprises opens a QIP issue of Rs 1,200 crore, approves floor price of Rs 7,790.88 per share. The floor price is at a discount of 6% of the last current market price.
  • Tech Mahindra: LIC raises stake in the company to 10.84% from 8.84% via market purchases.
  • Bharat Electronics received additional orders worth Rs 712 crore since last disclosure on Sept. 1.
  • Dr Reddy’s Laboratories launched Novel Molecule Tegoprazan in India. Tegoprazan is a novel patented molecule for Acid-Related gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Coal India was declared as preferred bidder by the Ministry of Mines for Ontillu-Chandragiri rare earth element exploration block.
  • HCLTech launched AI-First Martech Platform HCL Unica+ In India.
  • Piramal Enterprises merged with Piramal Finance and dissolved without being wound up.
  • Tata Communication’s non-operating arm in the Netherlands has undergone winding up & has been liquidated.

Nifty Overview & Outlook

Benchmark Nifty index ended higher at 25239 spot levels after adding 170 points to its previous closing values.

Broader markets performed in line with the benchmark as Mid and Small cap indices gained 0.54% & 0.95% respectively.

All sectoral indices, barring FMCG, ended in green. Amongst them, Auto and Realty index were at the top of the tally, gained over 1% each.

Technically, Nifty index witnessed price breakout above 25160 spot levels. Going ahead, we reiterate our bullish view on Nifty index intact till it is trading above 24950 spot levels on closing basis and expect it to test 25350-25500 spot levels.

 

Derivatives Overview & Outlook

Yesterday, all index futures moved higher on short covering as Nifty, Banknifty and Finnifty futures shed around 3.5%, 4% and 5% of open interest respectively along with some long buildup in Midcapnifty that added 1.34% of open interest.

On options front, Nifty will start the new weekly contract with maximum positions at 25200 PE and 26000 CE.

 

Institutional Trading Activity

Yesterday, FIIs bought stocks worth Rs 600 Cr in the cash segment, bought index futures worth Rs 2205 Cr also bought stocks futures worth Rs 797 Cr. DIIs were too net buyers  in the cash segment to the tune of Rs 1352 Cr.
