BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade with upside path as yellow metal jumped to a fresh high on Friday following a report that the United States has imposed tariffs on imports of one-kilo gold bars, while spot gold was headed for a second straight weekly rise on tariff turmoil and U.S. interest rate-cut hopes.
  • Overall gold can move in range of 101500-102600 while silver also can move in range of 113000-116000.
  • SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings rose 0.66% to 959.09 metric tons on Thursday from 952.79 tons on Wednesday.
  • Last week, weaker U.S. payrolls data boosted rate-cut bets, with the market now pricing in an over 91% chance of a 25-basis-point reduction next month, as per CME Group’s Fed Watch Tool.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on volatile path as it can move in range of 880-890. Copper prices rose on Friday and were on track for a weekly gain, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar and expectations of better demand from top consumer China.
  • China’s copper imports rose 3.4% from a month earlier, while copper concentrate imports climbed 9% as the smelting sector snapped up concentrate supplies in a record-breaking production run.
  • Aluminum prices can trade on stronger path as it may move in range of 250-257.while lead may also move in range of 178-183.
  • On the supply side, investors were closely watching developments surrounding the El Teniente copper mine in top producer Chile after a fatal collapse last week.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5550-5700. Oil prices were little changed in early Asian hours on Friday, but were headed for their steepest weekly losses since late-June, as investors expressed concern over the impact to the global economy from tariffs that kicked into effect on Thursday.
  • Oil prices were already reeling from the OPEC+ group’s decision last weekend to fully unwind its largest tranche of output cuts in September, months ahead of target.
  • Natural gas may witness lower level buying as it can move in range of 266-276.
