- Overall Gold (Dec) can move in range of 120400-121800 while silver (Dec) can move in range of 149000-151000.
- On Wednesday, the U.S. central bank cut interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point for the second time this year, taking the benchmark overnight rate to a target range of 3.75%–4.00%. However, traders scaled back bets that the Fed will cut rates again at its next policy meeting in December after remarks from Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
- Markets are now pricing in a 74.8% probability of a 25-basis-point cut from the Fed in December compared with a 91.1% chance a week ago, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper (Nov) prices can trade on strong path as it can move in range of 1010-1026.
- Copper’s just made the headlines again with the London Metal Exchange price punching out an all-time nominal high of $11,200 per metric ton on Wednesday.
- Investment fund long positioning on the LME copper contract has risen to levels last seen in March, just before U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff tsunami.
- The threat of a full-blown trade war between the United States and China, the world’s largest copper consumer, was decidedly bad news for copper. The partial truce just agreed by Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping lifts some of the macro weight.
- Aluminum (Nov) prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 268-274.while Zinc (Nov) may move on upside path as it may trade in range of 298-304.
ENERGY
- Crude oil (Nov) may trade with mixed path as it can move in range of 5300-5400. Oil prices eased on Friday, heading for a third straight monthly decline, as a stronger dollar capped commodities gains while rising supply from major producers globally offset the impact of Western sanctions on Russian exports.
- Both Brent and WTI are set to fall about 3% in October as rising supply is expected to exceed demand growth this year, with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and major non-OPEC producers ramping up output to gain market share.
- OPEC+ is leaning towards a modest output boost in December, sources familiar with the talks said ahead of the group’s meeting on Sunday.
- Natural gas (Nov) may remain on firm path as it can move in range of 350-368.
