MORNING RECOMMENDATION

BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade on weaker path as gold prices fell more than 1% on Monday, as a surge in energy prices fuelled inflation worries and dampened expectations for U.S. Federal Reserve interest rate cuts this year. Gold (Jun) can move in range of 144000-148000 while silver (May) can move in range of 220000-235000.
  • Meanwhile, gold demand in India saw a slight uptick last week as softer prices drew some buyers, though many remained cautious and waited for further declines. In China, premiums narrowed as demand slowed.
  • Traders now see little chance of a U.S. rate cut this year, as higher energy prices threaten to feed into broader inflation and limit scope for monetary easing. That contrasts with expectations for two rate cuts before the conflict began.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper (Apr) prices can trade on upside path as it can move in range of 1100-1170.
  • Aluminum (Apr) prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 345-355. Zinc (Apr) may move on volatile path as it may trade in range of 312-320. Aluminium prices rose sharply on Monday as market participants braced for a deeper supply shock after Iranian strikes over the weekend damaged two of the biggest producers of the metal in the Middle East.
  • Fears of an aluminum disruption have grown since the United States and Israel’s war against Iran began because aluminum producers in the Gulf, which accounts for about 9% of global supply, have been unable to ship material through the Strait of Hormuz.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil (Apr) may trade on firm path as it can move in wide range of 9200-9800 as oil prices extended gains on Monday after Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis launched over the weekend their first attacks on Israel since the start of the U.S.-Israel war with Iran, widening the conflict in the Middle East. The latest spike came after Iran declared on Sunday night that it was fully prepared for a US ground invasion.
  • The country’s parliament speaker warned that Tehran was waiting for the arrival of US troops to “set them on fire” and “punish” their regional allies. The warning followed further widening of the Middle East conflict over the weekend with the entry of the Houthi group (Ansarallah) into the Iranian war.
  • Natural gas (Apr) may trade on lower path as it can move in range of 270-285.
