BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on upside path as yellow metal prices gained on Thursday in light holiday trading, boosted by slight weakness in U.S. dollar and geopolitical tensions, as investors eyed Federal Reserve’s 2025 rate strategy and Trump’s tariff policies, which could shape the metal’s trajectory next year.
- Overall gold (Feb) can move in range of 76100-76600 while silver (Mar) also can move in range of 89000 -91000.
- On the geopolitical level, Hamas and Israel exchanged blame on Wednesday for failing to finalize a ceasefire agreement, despite reporting progress in recent days.
- Traders are awaiting the U.S. jobless claims data due later in the day and are bracing for major policy changes, including tariffs, deregulation, and tax shifts, as Trump returns to the White House in January.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on firm path as it can move in range of 796-810. The global refined copper market showed a 41,000 metric tons deficit in October, compared with a 136,000 metric tons deficit in September, the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) said in its latest monthly bulletin.
- World refined copper output in October was 2.30 million metric tons , while consumption was 2.34 million metric tons.
- When adjusted for changes in inventory in Chinese bonded warehouses, There was a 43,000 metric tons deficit in October compared with a 156,000 metric tons deficit in September,
- Aluminium prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 238-245.while lead may also move in range of 175-180.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5950-6080. Oil prices extended gains in Asian Trade on Thursday after the Christmas holiday, bolstered by new stimulus measures in China and a drop in U.S. crude inventories. Oil had risen more than 1% on Tuesday, and extended gains on Thursday after reports emerged around fresh stimulus measures from China.
- US oil inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels during the week ended Dec. 20, media reports showed on Wednesday, citing the American Petroleum Institute (API) data.
- Gasoline inventories rose by 3.9 million barrels last week, while distillate inventories—which include diesel and heating oil—fell by about 2.5 million barrels.
- The figures come ahead of data from the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy, due on Friday.
- Natural gas may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 286-300.
