BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on mixed path as gold prices rebounded on Thursday, driven by expectations of further U.S. interest rate cuts and geopolitical risks, while a slightly weaker dollar also lent support to bullion prices ahead of key economic data.
- Overall Gold can move in range of 111000-113500 while Silver also can move in range of 133000-136000.
- On Tuesday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell emphasized the need to balance inflation risks and a weakening jobs market in upcoming policy decisions.
- Investors are awaiting the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index report, the Fed’s preferred inflation measure, for further interest rate cues.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper (Oct) prices can trade on firm path as it can move in range of 942-955. Oil prices edged down as investors booked profits after a jump to a seven-week high during the prior session on a surprise drop in U.S. weekly crude inventories and concerns Ukraine’s attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure could disrupt supplies.
- Mining giant Freeport-McMoRan detailed the significant production impact from the suspension of its Grasberg Block Cave mine in Indonesia following a deadly mud rush incident.
- Aluminum prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 255-260.while Zinc may move on volatile path as it may trade in range of 282-288.
- Looking ahead, Freeport projects that PT Freeport Indonesia’s 2026 production could fall approximately 35% below prior estimates of 1.7 billion pounds of copper.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade with mixed path as it can move in range of 5650-5820. The draw contrasted with analysts’ expectations for a 235,000-barrel build in and was smaller than the 3.8 million-barrel draw that market sources said the American Petroleum Institute reported on Tuesday.
- Ukraine has stepped up drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in recent weeks, targeting refineries and export terminals to reduce Moscow’s export revenues, and Russia is seeing shortages of certain fuel grades with possible export restrictions on fuel if needed.
- Despite concerns over Russia’s supply disruptions, report that another key factor behind oil’s resilience was the lack of significant downward pressure from supply–demand fundamentals in recent weeks.
- Natural gas (Oct) may move on firm path as it can move in range of 272-288.
