BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on upside path as gold prices hovered near a record high on Tuesday, supported by safe-haven demand amid concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff plans which could fuel inflation and escalate a global trade war.
- Overall gold (Apr) can move in range of 85800-86400 while silver (Mar) also can move in range of 94000-96500.
- Investors and economists expect the U.S. Federal Reserve to respond “strongly and systematically” to changes in inflation and the labor market, according to research published on Monday by the San Francisco Fed.
- On the geopolitical front, Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron displayed stark differences in their approach to Ukraine, exposing a divide between the United States and Europe over Trump’s bid for a quick ceasefire deal with Russia.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 860-876. London copper prices edged lower on Tuesday, pressured by a stronger dollar and concerns over metal demand following U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff plans.
- Aluminum prices can trade on volatile path as it may move in range of 255-263.while lead may also move in range of 177-182.
- The dollar strengthened, after falling to its lowest point in more than two months at the start of the week, buoyed by safe-haven flows after Trump said tariffs on Mexico and Canada would proceed as planned.
- Trump said that tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports are “on time and on schedule,” despite the efforts by both countries to strengthen border security and curb the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. ahead of the March 4 deadline.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 6150-6230. Oil prices rose for a second day on Tuesday as the U.S. imposed fresh sanctions on Middle Eastern producer Iran that increased concerns supply might tighten.
- The U.S. on Monday put new sanctions on more than 30 brokers, tanker operators, and shipping companies for their role in transporting Iranian oil. President Donald Trump has said he wants to bring Iran’s crude exports to zero.
- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that tariffs against Canadian and Mexican imports scheduled to start on March 4 are “on time and on schedule” despite efforts by the two trading partners to address Trump’s concerns about border security and fentanyl. Analysts say the tariffs would be bearish for global oil demand growth.
- Natural gas may trade on weaker path as it can move in range of 335-350.
