BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade on mixed path as gold prices steadied near an all-time high on Monday, supported by concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff plans, while focus shifted to a key U.S. inflation report due later this week.
  • Overall gold (Apr) can move in range of 85800-86500 while silver (Mar) also can move in range of 95500-97000.
  • Trump last week said he would announce fresh tariffs over the next month or sooner, adding lumber and forest products to previously announced plans to impose duties on imported cars, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Traders are closely monitoring the Federal Reserve’s interest rate trajectory for clues, as Trump’s policies are seen as inflationary. If high inflation forces the Fed to maintain rates, gold’s appeal as a non-yielding asset will decrease.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 860-876. London copper eased on Monday as nervousness crept into metal demand after U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threats to raise tariffs.
  • Aluminum prices can trade on volatile path as it may move in range of 258-268.while lead may also move in range of 175-182.
  • Last week, Trump said he will announce fresh tariffs over the next month or sooner, adding lumber and forest products to previously announced plans to impose duties on imported cars, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil may trade on lower path as it can move in range of 6030-6150. Oil prices slipped in early trade on Monday, extending losses from last week, on the prospect of a resumption of exports from Kurdistan’s oilfields, while investors awaited clarity on talks to end Russia’s war on Ukraine.
  • Iraq’s oil ministry said all procedures had been completed to allow the resumption of exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline, potentially resolving a nearly two-year dispute that has disrupted crude flows.
  • This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump initiated talks with Russia on ending the war but without inviting Ukraine or the European Union to the table. A senior Russian diplomat said Russian and U.S. teams plan to meet this week to discuss improving relations.
