BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade with upside path as yellow metal prices climbed to a more than five-week peak on Wednesday, supported by a softer U.S. dollar and lower Treasury yields as investors looked forward to signs of progress in U.S. trade discussions.
- Overall gold (Aug) can move in range of 99300-101000 while silver (Sep) also can move in range of 114000-117500.
- U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. and Japan had struck a trade deal that includes a 15% tariff that will be levied on U.S. imports from the country.
- The U.S. central bank is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged at their monetary policy meeting scheduled for next week. Gold tends to perform well in a low-interest-rate environment.
- SPDR Gold Trust , the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings rose 0.82% to 954.80 tonnes on Tuesday from 947.06 tonnes on Monday.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on upside path as it can move in range of 894-906. The most-traded metals on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose on Wednesday, supported by market optimism after Beijing’s recent pledge to stabilize industrial growth, while traders monitored developments in China-U.S. trade talks.
- Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 250-256.while lead may also move in range of 176-183.
- Participants in Chinese metals markets closely monitored progress in U.S.-China trade discussions.
- S. and Chinese officials will meet in Stockholm next week to discuss extending the deadline for trade deal negotiations, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday. The original deadline was August 12.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5600-5730. Oil prices steadied in early trading on Wednesday after falling for three consecutive sessions as a U.S. trade deal with Japan signaled progress on tariffs and a poll showed U.S. crude stockpiles fell last week, indicating stronger demand.
- Oil had fallen in the previous session after the EU said it was considering countermeasures against U.S. tariffs, as hope faded for a deal ahead of the August 1 deadline.
- U.S. crude and gasoline stocks fell last week while distillate inventories rose, market sources said, citing American Petroleum Institute figures on Tuesday.
- Natural gas may trade on weaker path as it can move in range of 277-288.
