COMMODITY DAILY MARKET NEWS AND OUTLOOK

BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade with upside path as yellow metal prices climbed on Tuesday to their highest point in more than a month, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar and lower Treasury yields, as investors looked for progress in trade talks ahead of an August 1 deadline.
  • Overall gold (Aug) can move in range of 98300-99800 while silver (Sep) also can move in range of 112000-115500.
  • The U.S. dollar index was hovering near a more than one-week low against its rivals, making greenback-priced gold less expensive for other currency holders, while benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury yields hit a more than one-week low on Monday.
  • Traders are pricing about a 59% chance of a rate cut by the Fed in September, according to the CME FedWatch Tool. Gold tends to perform well in a low-interest-rate environment.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 888-897. The most-traded metals contracts on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose on Tuesday, supported by signs of better demand from China as authorities vow to stabilise industrial growth.
  • Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 250-256.while lead may also move in range of 176-183.
  • Outside China, investors remained cautious, focusing primarily on any new developments in trade talks between the U.S. and trade partners ahead of the August 1 deadline.

 

ENERGY

  • Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5600-5700. Oil prices edged down on Tuesday as concerns the brewing trade war between major crude consumers the U.S. and the European Union will curb fuel demand growth by lowering economic activity weighed on investor sentiment.
  • Still, the oil market has struggled to find any direction since the ceasefire on June 24 ending the conflict between Israel and Iran removed concerns about major supply disruptions in the key Middle East producing region.
  • Natural gas may trade on weaker path as it can move in range of 280-292.
  • The EU is exploring a broader set of possible counter-measures against the United States as prospects for an acceptable trade agreement with Washington fade, according to EU diplomats.
