BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 868-878. Base metals complex were hammered into a tight range with focus on the Fed’s annual symposium in Jackson Hole and Powell’s speech on Friday for U.S. interest policy clues.
- Aluminum prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 247-254.while lead may also move in range of 178-182. Aluminum prices rose on Friday for a second straight session, helped by prospects of improving demand in top consumer China, while investors remained focused on U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s speech later in the day for policy outlook.
- Base metals complex were hammered into a tight range with focus on the Fed’s annual symposium in Jackson Hole and Powell’s speech on Friday for U.S. interest policy clues.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5470-5600. Oil prices were little changed on Friday but were on track to snap a two-week losing streak as hope for immediate peace between Russia and Ukraine dimmed, increasing the risk premium demanded by oil sellers.
- Traders are pricing in more risk as hope that U.S. President Donald Trump can quickly broker a deal to end the war, which propelled a sell-off in oil over the last two weeks, fades.
- Oil prices were also supported by a larger-than-expected drawdown from U.S. crude stockpiles in the last week, indicating strong demand. Stockpiles fell 6 million barrels in the week ended August 15, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
- Investors were also looking to the Jackson Hole economic conference in Wyoming for signals of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut next month. The annual gathering of central bankers begins on Thursday, with Fed Chair Jerome Powell speaking on Friday.
- Natural gas may remain on volatile path as it can move in range of 240-250.
