- Overall gold (Aug) can move in range of 97000-97800 while silver (Sep) also can move in range of 110000-113000.
- The dollar index edged 0.3% lower against its rivals on the day, but was heading for its second straight week of gains, making greenback-priced bullion more expensive for other currency holders.
- The strong economic readings showed the world’s largest economy remained on a stable footing, supporting the Federal Reserve’s hesitance in resuming monetary policy easing.
- Gold exports from Switzerland jumped 44% month on month in June to the highest level since March as bullion flew back to the vaults in the UK from the U.S. via Swiss refineries, Swiss customs data showed.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 878-885. Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange and the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose on Friday, supported by stronger-than-expected U.S. economic data and expectations of increased Chinese buying after the recent price dip.
- S. retail sales increased 0.6% in June after an unrevised 0.9% drop in May, while the number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits fell last week, pointing to steady job growth so far in July.
- Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 246-252.while lead may also move in range of 176-183.
- Meanwhile, the market is waiting for confirmation of the August 1 deadline and details of the U.S.’s 50% import tariffs on copper.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5650-5780. Oil prices were little changed on Friday after rising in the previous session as concerns drone attacks on northern Iraqi oil fields will cut supply vied with worries of potential demand declines amid uncertainty in U.S. tariff policy.
- Near-term oil fundamentals remain supportive, with the market set to remain fairly tight through this quarter, before becoming better supplied from the last three months of the year.
- Natural gas may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 296-310.
- Oil output in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region has been slashed by between 140,000 and 150,000 barrels per day, two energy officials said, more than half the region’s normal output of about 280,000 bpd.
