BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on volatile path as it can move in range of 872-880. Copper prices in the international market traded higher on Monday, with the LME copper prices recovering some losses, as market sentiment steadied amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East due to the Israel-Iran war.
- LME copper prices gained, while SHFE copper prices recovered early losses despite cautiousness among investors due to the Middle East tensions and the release of a slew of economic data from China, the world’s largest consumer of copper.
- Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 238-244.while lead may also move in range of 177-182.
- In light of these developments, the US Federal Reserve is expected to maintain a cautious stance, with markets widely anticipating that interest rates will be held steady at Wednesday’s policy meeting
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on stronger path as it can move in range of 6100-6250. Oil prices climbed over 2% on Tuesday as Iran-Israel tension intensified and U.S. President Donald Trump urged “everyone” to evacuate Tehran, increasing the prospect of deepening unrest in the region and disruption to oil supply.
- Both contracts settled more than 1% lower on Monday on hope of easing geopolitical tension after media reports of Iran seeking an end to hostilities.
- Iran is the third-largest producer among members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Hostilities could disrupt its supply of oil and thereby increase prices.
- On Monday, an Israeli strike hit Iran’s state broadcaster and the head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog also indicated extensive damage to Iran’s biggest uranium enrichment plant.
- Natural gas may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 316-326.
