BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade on volatile path as yellow metal recovered on Tuesday, after a sharp fall in the previous session, as investors looked forward to U.S. inflation data that could offer further insight into the Federal Reserve’s rate-cut trajectory.
  • Gold prices slipped 1.6% on Monday, while futures dropped by more than 2% after U.S. President Donald Trump said tariffs will not be placed on imported gold bars, easing jitters in the market.
  • Overall gold can move in range of 99500-101000 while silver also can move in range of 112000-115000.
  • Traders are pricing in around a 90% chance of a Fed rate cut next month. Gold tends to perform well during periods of uncertainty and in a low-interest-rate environment.
  • On the geopolitical front, Trump will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on volatile path as it can move in range of 883-893. Copper prices in Shanghai and London held steady on Tuesday as a boost from the extension of the Sino-U.S. trade truce deadline offset growing supply and a stronger dollar that curbed the upside.
  • The extension buys crucial time for the seasonal autumn surge of imports for the Christmas season, including electronics at lower tariff rates, bolstering sentiment in the broad commodities market.
  • Aluminum prices can trade on stronger path as it may move in range of 250-256.while lead may also move in range of 178-183.
  • Chile’s state regulators have approved the reopening of parts of the El Teniente mine not affected by the collapse on July 31 that killed six workers, Codelco said, easing supply concerns and weighing down prices.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 5550-5700. Oil prices rose on Tuesday as the United States and China extended a pause on higher tariffs, easing concerns an escalation of their trade war would disrupt their economies and crimp fuel demand in the world’s two largest oil consumers.
  • Natural gas may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 255-265.
  • U.S. President Donald Trump extended a tariff truce with China by another 90 days, a White House official said on Monday, staving off triple-digit duties on Chinese goods as U.S. retailers prepared for the critical end-of-year holiday season.
