COMMODITY DAILY MARKET NEWS AND OUTLOOK

BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade on upside path bias as gold prices rose on Monday, buoyed by expectations of another Federal Reserve interest rate cut in December and a slew of weak economic data that raised global growth worries.
  • Overall Gold (Dec) can move in range of 121500-123200 while silver (Dec) can move in range of 150000-152500.
  • The U.S. economy shed jobs in October amid losses in the government and retail sectors, while cost cutting and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption by businesses led to a surge in announced layoffs, data showed last week.
  • U.S. consumer sentiment weakened to its lowest level in nearly 3-1/2 years in early November amid worries about the economic fallout from the longest ever U.S. government shutdown, a survey showed on Friday.
  • Market participants now see a 67% chance of a December Fed rate cut, according to CME Fed Watch Tool. Non-yielding gold tends to do well in a low-interest-rate environment and during economic uncertainties.

 BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper (Nov) prices can trade on upside path as it can move in range of 1000-1010. Base metal prices are on an upward trajectory, driven by robust industrial demand, constrained global supply, a weaker US dollar, and heightened speculative interest.
  • Aluminum (Nov) prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 272-276.while Zinc (Nov) may move on upside path as it may trade in range of 298-304.
  • US senators on Sunday reached an agreement to reopen the government after 40 days, signaling an end to the lengthy shutdown.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil (Nov) may trade with upside path as it can move in range of 5300-5400. Oil prices rose on Monday on optimism that the U.S. government shutdown could end soon and lift demand in the world’s top oil consumer, offsetting concerns about rising supplies globally.
  • Brent and WTI fell about 2% last week and notched their second weekly decline, on fears of a supply glut. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and their allies, or OPEC+, agreed to increase output slightly in December, but it also paused further hikes in the first quarter, wary of a supply glut.
  • Crude inventories are also on the rise in the United States while the volume of oil stored on board ships in Asian waters has doubled in recent weeks after tightening Western sanctions curtailed imports to China and India and as a shortage of import quota curbed demand from independent Chinese refiners.
  • Natural gas (Nov) may remain on upside path as it can move in range of 390-403.
