BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on positive path as yellow metal surged past the $3,600 an ounce level for the first time on Monday, hitting a record high, as soft U.S. labor data reinforced expectations the U.S. Federal Reserve will cut interest rates next week.
- Overall Gold (Oct) can move in range of 108000-109500 while Silver (Dec) also can move in range of 124000-127000.
- The yellow metal could extend its momentum toward $3,700–$3,730 in the near-term, with any brief pullbacks likely seen as buying opportunities.
- Friday’s jobs report showed U.S. employment growth slowed sharply in August. Traders now see a 88% chance of a quarter-point rate cut at the Fed’s September meeting, with around 12% chance of a larger 50-bps cut, according to the CME Fed Watch tool.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on upside path as it can move in range of 896-905. Copper prices climbed across major exchanges on Tuesday, supported by a weaker dollar and tighter inventories globally. The dollar index, which measures the U.S. currency against six major peers, weakened to an almost seven-week low as dismal U.S. jobs data strengthened the case for Federal Reserve rate cuts.
- China’s imports of copper concentrate increased for a second consecutive month in August boosted by higher exports from a major Indonesian mine, which aims to ship up to 90% of its 1.27 million ton quota by September 16.
- Aluminum prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 252-257.while Zinc may move on volatile path as it may trade in range of 273-277.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade with positive path as it can move in range of 5450-5590. Oil prices gained on Tuesday after OPEC+ decided to increase production by less than what market participants had anticipated, while concerns over tighter supply due to potential new sanctions on Russia continued to lend support.
- Eight members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies, collectively known as OPEC+, agreed on Sunday to raise production from October by 137,000 barrels per day. That is much lower than the monthly increases of about 555,000 bpd for September and August, and 411,000 bpd in July and June. It is also less than some analysts had expected.
- Prices were also supported by speculation of more sanctions on Russia after the country’s biggest air attack on Ukraine set fire to a government building in Kyiv. U.S. President Donald Trump said he was ready to move to a second phase of restrictions.
- Natural gas may remain on upside path as it can move in range of 268-278.
