Report Overview

- Overall Gold (Dec) can move in range of 121000-123000 while Silver (Dec) also can move in range of 146000-148500.
- The U.S. government shutdown entered its seventh day on Tuesday, and has postponed the release of key economic indicators, forcing investors to rely on secondary, non-government data to gauge the timing and extent of Fed rate cuts.
- Gold has climbed 52% so far this year on strong central bank buying, increased demand for gold-backed Exchange-Traded Fund (ETFs), a weaker dollar and growing interest from retail investors seeking a hedge amid rising trade and geopolitical tensions.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper (Oct) prices can trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 992-1000. Copper prices slipped on Wednesday as a stronger U.S. dollar prompted some investors to book profits after the red metal hit a 16-month high earlier this week on concerns over supply disruptions.
- The dollar index extended gains to a third straight session, touching more than one-month high against its rivals. A firmer dollar makes greenback-denominated assets more expensive for holders of other currencies.
- Operations at Indonesia’s Grasberg mine, the world’s second-largest copper mine accounting for 3% of global concentrate production, remain halted for nearly a month after a mud-flow disaster killed seven workers.
- Aluminum prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 259-263.while Zinc may move on upside path as it may trade in range of 293-298.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade with upside path as it can move in range of 5460-5620. Oil prices edged higher in early trade on Wednesday as markets started to brush off oversupply fear for the time being, having digested a decision by OPEC+ to restrain November production increases.
- The benchmarks settled broadly flat in the previous session as investors weighed signs of a supply glut against a smaller-than-expected increase to November output from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and affiliates.
- OPEC+ had opted for a rise of 137,000 barrels a day, the lowest amount among options the group discussed at the weekend.
- U.S. crude stocks rose by 2.78 million barrels in the week ended October 3, sources said on Tuesday citing American Petroleum Institute figures.
- Natural gas (Oct) may move on strong path as it can move in range of 305-315.
