BULLIONS

  • Bullions counter may trade on volatile path bias as gold dipped on Thursday after stronger-than-expected private U.S. payrolls data dented expectations of another interest rate cut by the U.S. Federal Reserve in December.
  • Overall Gold (Dec) can move in range of 119800-122000 while silver (Dec) can move in range of 148000-151000.
  • The U.S. Federal Reserve cut interest rates last week and Chair Jerome Powell suggested it might be the last reduction in borrowing costs for the year.
  • Market participants now see a 62% chance of a Fed rate cut in December, down from over 90% last week.
  • Elsewhere, U.S. Supreme Court justices raised doubts on Wednesday over the legality of President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs in a case with implications for the global economy.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper (Nov) prices can trade on strong path as it can move in range of 998-1015. Shanghai copper rose on Thursday after it touched a more than one-week low in the previous session, although weak Chinese market demand limited gains.
  • Copper’s consolidation suggested an “unwinding of overextended positions rather than a shift in the fundamental narrative.
  • Traders now await further economic data from China where the October manufacturing PMI disappointed. Trade readings are expected on Friday and lending data is scheduled for next week.
  • Aluminum (Nov) prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 270-274.while Zinc (Nov) may move on upside path as it may trade in range of 298-304.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil (Nov) may trade with mixed path as it can move in range of 5250-5420. Oil prices were largely flat early on Thursday, after settling at two-week lows in the previous session as pressure from weaker demand and a global oil glut continued to weigh on the market.
  • In the previous session, oil prices fell after the U.S. Energy Information Administration said U.S. crude stocks rose by 5.2 million barrels to 421.2 million barrels last week, compared with expectations for a 603,000-barrel rise.
  • Global oil prices fell a third straight month in October on fears of oversupply as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies increased output while production from non-OPEC producers is also still growing.
