BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on upside path as yellow metal prices remained stable on Thursday as investors assessed weaker-than-expected U.S. data and ongoing global economic and political uncertainties, while looking ahead to U.S. payroll data for further economic cues.
- Overall gold (Aug) can move in range of 97600-99500 while silver (Jul) also can move in range of 100000-102600.
- Volatility is also suppressed while we await comments from FOMC members and Friday’s Nonfarm payroll data.
- Gold gained support after the Federal Reserve reported a slowdown in U.S. economic activity, citing rising costs and prices driven by increased tariff rates since the last policy meeting.
- The ADP National Employment Report showed that U.S. private employers added in May the fewest number of workers in more than two years, with investors awaiting Friday’s nonfarm payrolls report for further clues on the labor market.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on positive path as it can move in range of 868-880. London copper prices inched up on Thursday amid a weakening U.S. dollar, while the market focus remained on a series of trade talks between the U.S. and its major trading partners.
- On the trade front, U.S. President Donald Trump called his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping tough and “extremely hard to make a deal with” on Wednesday, exposing frictions after the White House raised expectations of a long-awaited phone call between the two leaders this week.
- Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 237-243.while lead may also move in range of 177-182.
- Trump’s 50% tariffs on aluminium and steel have raised expectations that he will soon follow through with a pledge to impose stiffer duties on copper as well.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 5340-5450. Oil prices slipped in early trade on Thursday after a build in U.S. gasoline and diesel inventories and Saudi Arabia’s cut to its July prices for Asian crude buyers.
- Oil prices closed around 1% lower on Wednesday after official data showed that U.S. gasoline and distillate stockpiles grew more than expected, reflecting weaker demand in the world’s top economy.
- The price cut by Saudi Arabia, key oil producer within OPEC+ – the oil producing group that includes members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies such as Russia – follows the OPEC+ move over the weekend to increase output by 411,000 barrels per day for July.
- Natural gas may trade on mixed path as it can move in range of 313-322.
