BULLIION

  • Bullions counter may trade on lower path as gold dropped more than 2% on Tuesday to a two-week low as elevated Treasury yields and a stronger ‌U.S. dollar weighed on prices, while bullion’s break below its 200-day moving average triggered additional technical selling.
  • Gold (Oct) can move in range of 148000-152000 while silver (Dec) can move in range of 225000-240000. U.S. Treasury yields rose to their highest since January 2025 on Tuesday as rising tensions in the Middle East stoked inflation fears and triggered a global bond selloff.
  • Although gold is traditionally viewed as a hedge against inflation, rising interest rates and higher yields on Treasuries typically pressure ‌gold as they raise the opportunity cost of holding the non-yielding asset. The dollar also gained, making greenback-priced gold more expensive to overseas buyers.
  • Investors are now looking ahead to the ADP employment report on Wednesday and non-farm payrolls data on Friday for fresh clues on economic policy.

BASE METALS

  • In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade sideways path as it can move in range of 1350-1380. Copper fell for a second day, dropping with other metals, as resurgent oil prices fanned concerns about prospects for the world economy.
  • Aluminum prices can trade on mixed path as it may move in range of 340-350. The aluminium market is betting that increased exports from China and Indonesia can offset the loss of production in the Gulf region due to the Iran war.

ENERGY

  • Crude oil may trade on firm path as it can move in range of 8450-8750. Oil prices rose in early trade on Wednesday, extending the previous session’s surge, as concerns over supply disruption intensified after the U.S. and Iran exchanged ‌strikes overnight, dimming hopes for a quick easing of tensions in the Middle East.
  • The U.S. said it had launched a series of airstrikes against targets in Iran overnight, prompting a response from Tehran, in the most serious escalation of the conflict between the two countries in weeks.
  • The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the U.S. attacks would further restrict traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway that carried about one-fifth of the global oil consumed before the conflict and which Iran has effectively closed to commercial shipping.
  • Natural gas may trade with firm path as it can move in range of 275-287.
