BULLIONS
- Bullions counter may trade on upside path as yellow metal prices climbed to an all-time high on Tuesday, extending gains to a sixth session on the back of a weaker dollar and rising bets of a U.S. interest rate cut this month.
- Overall Gold (Oct) can move in range of 105000-106000 while Silver (Dec) also can move in range of 124000-126000.
- Another factor is the festering confidence crisis in dollar assets because of U.S. President Donald Trump’s attack on Fed independence.
- Trump has criticized the Federal Reserve and its chair, Jerome Powell, for months for not lowering rates, and recently took aim at Powell over a costly renovation of the central bank’s Washington headquarters.
BASE METALS
- In base metal counter, Copper prices can trade on firm path as it can move in range of 897-910. Copper inched up toward its key threshold of $10,000 a ton, after advancing last month on a weaker dollar and relatively resilient demand.
- Aluminum prices can trade on upside path as it may move in range of 252-257.while Zinc may move on strong path as it may trade in range of 270-275.
- Copper last traded above $10,000 in July, but has proved relatively resilient despite some forecasts for lower prices after US President Donald Trump stopped short of placing import tariffs on the most widely traded forms of the metal.
- US copper futures are still trading at a premium over London prices that are the global benchmark, and metal is still flowing to America.
ENERGY
- Crude oil may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 5650-5770. Oil prices rose in early Asia trade on Tuesday as concerns about supply disruptions grew amid an escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
- Recent Ukrainian drone attacks shut down facilities accounting for at least 17% of Russia’s oil processing capacity, or 1.1 million barrels per day.
- Three and a half years into the war, Russia and Ukraine have both intensified airstrikes in recent weeks. Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy and transport systems, while Ukraine has been attacking Russian oil refineries and pipelines.
- China and India are the biggest buyers of crude oil from Russia, the world’s second largest exporter. Trump has imposed additional tariffs on India over the purchases but not on China.
- Natural gas may remain on volatile path as it can move in range of 255-267.
