- Bullions counter may trade on weaker path as yellow metal inched lower on Monday, pressured by a stronger dollar and rising oil prices, as investors awaited U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision on a proposed deal to extend the ceasefire with Iran. Gold (Aug) can move in range of 159000-161500 while silver can move in range of 265000-274000.
- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he would soon decide on a proposed deal to extend the ceasefire with Iran, though the two countries still appeared to differ on significant issues that have been central to the conflict.
- Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman said on Friday the Middle East war’s impact on the economy, while still being measured, could lead to persistent rises in inflation that might require tighter monetary policy.
- Gold demand in India remained subdued last week due to higher prices and import duties, while premiums in top consumer China narrowed amid cautious sentiment.
BASE METALS

ENERGY

Oil prices rose more than 2% in early trading on Monday after Israel ordered troops to move further into Lebanon in the battle with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group, despite a ceasefire announced more than six weeks ago.
- The stepped-up fighting, coming just after the U.S. hosted Israeli-Lebanon peace talks in Washington on Friday, dimmed expectations that the U.S. and Iran could soon announce an extension to their ceasefire agreement, which had driven Brent and WTI to settle up 1.8% and 1.7%, respectively, on Friday.
- Natural gas may trade on upside path as it can move in range of 313-326.
