The March 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8940.25, at a premium of 32.40 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 8907.85 in the cash market. The February 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,908, at a premium of 0.15 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 5.14 lakh crore from Rs 3.96 lakh crore yesterday, 20 February 2017.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 28.65 points or 0.32% to settle at 8,907.85, its highest closing level since 8 September 2016.

Axis Bank, Tata Steel, TCS, HDFC Bank and Vedanta were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Axis Bank February 2017 futures traded at 505.05, at a discount compared with spot closing of 506.75. Tata Steel February 2017 futures traded at 489.50, at a discount compared with spot closing of 490.50.

TCS February 2017 futures traded at 2468, at a premium compared with spot closing of 2461.50. HDFC Bank February 2017 futures traded at 1410.30, at a discount compared with spot closing of 1412. Vedanta February 2017 futures traded at 268.55, at a discount compared with spot closing of 269.25.

The February 2017 F&O contracts are set to expire on Thursday, 23 February 2017. The March 2017 F&O contracts are set to expire on 30 March 2017.
